Christie Gives to the Autism Society
As we reflected on what really mattered to us in 2021, we created a new employee benefit that mirrors our values and our commitment to making the world a more fair and equitable place. This month, we are officially launching "Holistic Gives," our new employee charitable giving program. Holistic will donate $200 on behalf of each team member to a charity or non-profit of their choosing. We will be highlighting our team members throughout the year and sharing their donation stories. Follow along throughout the year as we highlight the charities our team has selected and what “Holistic Gives” means to them.
This month, Christie Oxler chose to donate to the Autism Society. Their mission is to create connections, empowering everyone in the Autism community with the resources needed to live fully. The Autism Society strives to empower individuals who experience Autism and their families to make informed decisions in the planning and delivery of individualized, evidence-based services and support.
Why did you choose this charity?

I wanted to choose a non-profit that supports individuals with Autism since this is often a part of our DEI that is overlooked. My brother lives with Autism and I know how important resources and programs are to those living with it. The process of finding jobs that will give extra support to those who need it is very difficult. The Autism Society supports federal policies and initiatives that facilitate greater access to the workforce to those on the Autism spectrum, ensure access to inclusive educational experiences, and help people with Autism and their families to live fully. It gives me hope to see organizations supporting something so close to my heart and I'm happy that Holistic can further support this cause.
How does the Autism Society connect to Holistic’s mission and values?
Holistic's mission is to help companies give an equitable experience for all employees, and that includes individuals on the Autism spectrum and those that live with other disabilities. I chose the Autism Society due to its focus on providing access to the workforce and increasing the employment rate for people with Autism. We can learn so much from the Autism Society, especially how to better support these employees.
What does “Holistic Gives” mean to you?
Holistic Gives means further supporting our community. I appreciate that Holistic gives me a voice to speak on my passions and that we can use our platform to bring awareness to these important topics.
