STATE OF TECH 2020: SALARY REPORT
The market continues to evolve: the technology industry and the employment pool are rapidly changing. Tech candidates need to know their worth—and so do the companies hiring them. Both need to stay on top of the trends.
Tracking salary trends is important for companies and job seekers, especially when we are talking about one of the most in-demand sectors: Tech. While job seekers certainly need to know their worth, companies must also know what to expect to pay for these positions. When candidates and companies possess this information, it makes the job of companies and recruiting firms easier, but that does not mean it is not without its challenges. It is not easy to standardize so many data points across industries and experience levels.
In response, our sister company Hirewell developed a tool last year to aggregate public-facing salary information with their own data (over 500 individual surveys with job seekers and over 300 specific engineering hires that they facilitated). This year, Hirewell went one step further and combined their internal salary data (300+ placements) with our Holistic tech salary data (2,500 additional data points). We think this is far superior to other salary surveys that are often crowdsourced.
