Who's Doing it Well? Table XI Disrupts the 'All-Hands' and it's Glorious
One of the most frequent questions we receive — and try and answer at Holistic — is “Who is doing it well?” It’s always been really informative to hear the good ideas others have. After all, as we say, there’s no IP in inclusion. This feature will highlight creative ideas from other companies. Check out the whole list here or submit your own suggestion below.
Who: Table XI, a software design and development company in Chicago.
What’s the big idea 💡: Table XI hosts a monthly all-hands meeting in Chicago for their distributed team. So as we switched to our collective quarantine fever dream, they were screwed. Or were they? They’ve published their ten-step process to a killer virtual all-hands meeting.
Why it works: It’s thorough. It’s a mix of serious stuff (Be transparent), fun stuff (Everyone gets a Harry Potter house assignment!) and practical stuff (Breakouts to facilitate even more interpersonal interaction).
The idea about the card game — element #4 — is legitimately inspired. This has a place in society for right now and definitely for after we emerge from quarantine. That alone is worth the read. (And, don’t worry Table XI, the Holistic business development team will be reaching out to you about this.)
(Not so) hidden value: It’s open sourced. For a company to be SO CONFIDENT in what it’s doing that it can just put its ideas out there for God and everybody — that’s the sort of company we want to work for and work with. Right?
Plus, it’s fast. I mean, we just went on quarantine two months ago. And they’ve figued all this out since then? It’s great.
TL/DR: Table XI decided to disrupt the company all-hands meeting and it slayed.
